BRINGING CAJUN ART INTO THE DIGITAL AGE

There are many arguments around the use of digital tools to create artwork and illustrations. Those that are against it are usually artists with very little skillsets. This has been the reality of professional artists for decades. In the Louisiana festival scene there seems to be an anti technology trend by gatekeepers of festival art guilds to keep the art very primitive and folkish. This mentality has killed the local art scenes and has driven the best artists of the age to move away from Louisiana for work. Folklore is the death of any culture. Cajun needs to move into the future or it dies here.

I am taking tat step to move Acadian artists into a more professional realm. In my Marine Art Series I have illustrated the compositions with pencils and then scanned the artwork and used Photoshop to color the artwork. The Gaomon series tablets have been a budget friendly workhorse for these projects. The Gaomon MK10 tablet has been a blast to work with.
