NOT FINDING CAJUN
Some of us never had to go “Finding Cajun” because we were never lost. Some of us were never far from our ancestors. In the words of one of my favorite Breton musicians Denez Prigent, “Folklore is death. Thanks to musicians like Alan Stivell, who quickly understood that academising Breton music would shortly condemn it, it is now completely anchored in daily life. Attending any fest-noz suffices to understand that we are not maintaining a dying fire. With this disc, I felt like showing a Breton's vision of the world today.” This approach to living your culture has reshaped the way I look at what it means to be a Cajun.
